What Happens During the Removal Procedure?
Preparation
We will inspect the tattoo for any abnormalities or skin discoloration before beginning your procedure, ensuring the area can be properly treated. Upon inspection, a numbing agent will be applied on and around the desired area. We want to make sure this process is as comfortable as possible.
Laser Application
The laser will apply a safe and powerful pulse of light to the tattoo. This light is absorbed by the tattoo ink and heats it up to safely break the ink down.
Aftercare
Swelling and other minimal side effects can be expected after your laser tattoo removal procedure. Based on your skin’s reaction, we will provide you with the proper antibacterial ointment and other skincare products to help promote healing.
From here, we will discuss how many appointments you’ll need for a complete removal—this process relies on the body’s ability to eliminate ink. You’ll need to wait a minimum of four to six weeks between sessions to avoid any damage or permanent side effects to the skin.
